Ok. Ever heard of WIFI? Ever heard of war driving, node running, war chalking, or network stubling? Ever heard of a little program called Network Stumbler? Well for those of you who have, this is for you. For those of you who haven't, take a seat. Time for a lesson.

We at Drunken Labs take part in a past time (or sport some call it) called war driving. This is when a person takes a laptop or PDA equiped with a wireless network card and goes looking for wireless networks. We use external antennas and gps locators to get better range and log where we find networks. Eventually when I get done with my research, I'll post maps of where in NE Kansas we've found networks. I'll also post all the research data. For now you can get our log files here.

We use a software package for windows called "Network Stumbler." It's a simple interface that allows easy locating of wireless networks with built in GPS logging. Pretty sweet. If you want more info on it check out WWW.NETWORKSTUMBLER.COM

Uh Huh. So, nothing more to say really. Got questions, ask one of us. If it's a network security question, ask me, I've got a bit more experience than anybody else
